In the modern cosmetics industry, one of the primary technological challenges is ensuring the stability of active ingredients within a formulation and their effective penetration through the skin barrier. In response to this need, the Versus Labs laboratory is actively developing and implementing liposomal delivery systems, which fundamentally alter the mechanisms of active substance delivery.
Liposomes are microscopic spherical structures composed of a phospholipid bilayer. Their composition is biocompatible with human cell membranes, allowing them to function as highly efficient transport systems. Liposomes enable the encapsulation of both hydrophilic and lipophilic molecules, protecting them from premature oxidation or degradation during the product's shelf life.
Laboratory studies confirm that liposomal encapsulation significantly increases the permeability of active ingredients. Due to their structural similarity to cell membranes, liposomes facilitate the transport of active substances into the deeper layers of the epidermis and dermis, where their effects are most required.
One of the priority research directions at Versus Labs is the integration of NMNH (reduced nicotinamide mononucleotide) into cosmetic products. NMNH is a direct precursor to NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), which plays an essential role in cellular metabolism and DNA repair processes. As tissue concentrations of NAD+ decline with age, external restoration of its levels is a critical factor in decelerating cellular aging.
The main issue when working with NMNH is its chemical instability in traditional aqueous or emulsion formulations. To address this challenge, Versus Labs is executing the project "Development of an Innovative Liposomal Complex," co-funded by the European Union. Through this project, a technology is being developed that allows NMNH to be encapsulated within liposomes, thereby ensuring the molecule's stability and controlled release within the skin.
Versus Labs provides Private Label manufacturing services based on scientific research and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The application of liposomal technologies allows our partners to introduce higher value-added products to the market, the efficacy of which is grounded in objective biochemical mechanisms.
Investments in R&D (Research and Development) ensure that the formulations we develop meet the strictest quality requirements and reflect the latest advancements in dermatological science. Partnering with Versus Labs provides brands with the opportunity to integrate advanced technologies into their product lines, ensuring a measurable and reliable outcome for the end consumer.
